How to Make It a Successful Tax Season
To help us prepare your tax return accurately and on time, we ask that all clients follow these guidelines. Clear communication and timely submission of complete information allow us to serve you efficiently and avoid unnecessary delays.
1. March 27 Submission Deadline
To ensure your tax return can be completed by the April 15 filing deadline, all required tax information must be received by March 27. Information received after this date may require filing an extension.
2. Submit Complete Information at One Time
Please wait until you have received all of your tax documents before submitting your information to us. Sending partial or piecemeal information increases the risk of missing items and delays the preparation process.
3. Appointments Only
Our office operates by appointment only. Unscheduled drop-ins are discouraged, as we may be meeting with other clients and unable to assist you properly without advance notice. Appointments ensure dedicated time and a better experience for everyone.
4. Qualified Overtime Documentation
If qualified overtime income eligible for the new tax deduction is not separately stated on your Form W-2, please provide a copy of your final 2025 paystub or other employer-provided documentation showing total qualified overtime income for the year.
5. Notify Us of Changes from Prior Years
Please inform us of any significant changes from the prior year, including new businesses, sale or purchase of property, changes in dependents, marital status changes, or significant income changes.
6. Use Our Tax Checklist
Please complete and follow our Tax Checklist carefully. The checklist is designed to help ensure required information is provided and lowers the risk of an overlooked item.
7. Respond Promptly to Follow-Up Requests
If we contact you with questions or requests for additional information, timely responses are critical to keeping your return on schedule.
8. Extensions May Be Required
If complete information is not received by March 27, or if required items remain outstanding, an extension may be necessary. An extension to file does not extend the time to pay any taxes due.
9. Payment Responsibility
Clients are responsible for reviewing and approving their tax returns and for timely payment of any balances due, including required estimated tax payments.
10. Secure Submission of Documents
Please submit all tax documents using our approved secure methods (client portal or encrypted upload). Emailing sensitive tax information is discouraged unless encrypted. Do not text documents containing personal identification information.
